Mom still had pain today, and some fatigue, both more than she’d like, but the last 24 hours have been pretty good. Mom slept through the night and late into the morning, and has been buzzing around the house all day, cleaning this, fussing with that. Mom seems like Mom today.

June 7, 2022: A Medium Day
Today was a little better than yesterday, and it got better as the day went on. Mom had a pretty good night of sleep; just one wake up due to symptoms, but she and my sister were able to resolve them and get some more sleep. Mom woke up feeling terrible, but her appetite improved and it seemed like maybe she was able to turn a corner by the afternoon. Both of my sisters and my niece and Mom went out for pedicures, so, overall, not a bad day!
June 6, 2022: A Medium Day
Today was less fatigue and less pain, but it was still a day limited by symptoms. Mom had a rough night, but she and Pop got through it. Mom’s friend Ellen stopped by with some treats, and my older sister came down to sleep over. Mom’s appetite improved.
June 5, 2022: A Bad Day
Mom struggled a bit today; there was increased pain, increased fatigue, and decreased appetite. This is expected to a certain extant, as today the at-home chemo came off, and that causes a crash like clockwork. This time it was worse than other times, and Mom spent a lot of the day unable to do the things she wanted to do and just trying to sleep through it.
June 4, 2022: A Good Day
Mom had a good first day after chemo 4; she ate well and got some rest. All 3 of us siblings were over and fussing and kids were playing in the yard. A Good Day.
June 3, 2022: A Good Day (Chemo 4)
Chemo went well; Mom’s numbers were a little low, but nothing outside the range. The experience at Penn was great, and Mom handled everything just fine.
